In Houston, we have identified at least 20% of West Nile virus patients are still infected with the virus years after their initial illness. Our study was recently published in the Journal of Infectious Diseases. Find a link to the story here. For a copy of the publication, click here.
We have also found that long term symptoms related to illness can also persist. Find a link to the study here.
